Blog Week 5…
Hey my dudes,
Okay so this week A LOT has happened. Like a lot, a lot.
I got to tattoo my older cousin, and had a lot of returning/new clients which was nice. As always had such a good week even though I was only in for 3 days!!!
Danny and I went on a little mid week trip.
(We’ve had it planned for a good couple of months).
So firstly we headed to the Royal Mint in Cardiff where we got to stamp our own coins. So we both officially have a new £1 coin with the king on it. It was so interesting I mean if you’ve been tattooed by me at all in the last month you’ll know how excited I was about this. Even Danny was super interested by the end of the tour. We actually drove down on Tuesday and ended up running a little late (M4 ended up being closed in parts). The staff at the Royal Mint were amazing they kept the cafe open as they knew we’d travelled down from Leeds and the tour was just so much fun. If you all didn’t know, the factories/warehouses are nearly fully sustainable and they were have the only colourful windmill in the world (its in the colours of the daffodil which is the flower of Wales) which I thought was mega!!!
After we had visited the Royal Mint we headed into Cardiff for an over nights stay at the Radisson Blu hotel, which again everyone was super nice. We even got an upgrade which was ace. We ended up with a really cool view of Cardiff and also the largest bed EVER!!!
When we got up in the morning we decided to go for a walk around Cardiff Castle which honestly was loads of fun (💯 recommend going if you are in Cardiff). Whilst we were there we even had our family names/coat of arms found and got the history of both our names.
(Hartley and Stanfield) Turns out each of our names did have knighthoods back in the day!!!
We managed to purchase a ‘Love Spoon’ If you don’t know what one is (which not going to lie I had no idea) just google it. I have attached a photo. Years ago in Wales they were given on different occasions. Each carving represents something different.
After Cardiff we had a drive over to the Cotswolds which took us over the Prince of Wales bridge (definitely one of the coolest bridges if you are ever down that way just head over the M4 you can’t really miss it).
We arrived in the Cotswolds and were staying in a really cute country pub called ‘The Old Swan’ in Minster Lovell. Everything was so perfect when we were there. We had booked a table at a near by steak house for food which was lovely. However over the few days I had noticed Danny acting more strange than usual 😂😂😂.
So when we arrived back at the Old Swan Danny made me wait outside our room so I knew he was up to something, I mean you all know what he’s like by now if you follow my socials he’s always doing some sort of surprise (which no jokes ALWAYS gives me anxiety).
This is where Danny actually asked me to Marry him. He had a speech prepared and everything, balloons, flowers and he was down on one knee. I obviously said yes as I genuinely believe I have FINALLY found someone as crazy as I am (if not more) which is funny.
I found out he even asked both my parents, who both agreed. He had purchased my dream ring from my favourite jewellers in Greece (Veronica’s) after we came home last summer. My mum was fully in on the whole thing which I was totally shocked about. Turns out the only two people who had no idea were my sister and myself. (This I’m pretty sure is because she would have definitely told me 😂😂😂).
After all this excitement the next day we headed to Bicester Village also if you’ve never been you definitely need to go (you can get some right designer bargains). I ended up purchasing my sisters 30th birthday present here.
(Can not believe my younger sister is going to be 30 soon, absolutely insane).
We then drove back up home and normality resumed.
However I am going to apologise if any of you see Danny and myself together because all he keeps saying is '“Hello Fiancée”, “Where is my Fiancée?” It is sickening to me never mind anyone else. But I wouldn’t have him any other way!!!
Before I finish this weeks blog I wanna just say a huge THANK YOU to all of you for the kind words and messages.
We are as always grateful. On to the next chapter of our lives together now!!! How exciting…
Until next week…
